Why Focus on MN & WI State Records?

Focus is currently on obtaining as many records as possible from Minnesota and
Wisconsin.  While you might not be researching in these areas, the management of
GenCo-Op feels that concentrating in a smaller area will allow us to become more
competitive in these areas, before moving on to other locations.  It's a way of keeping
GenCo-Op from being stretched too thin.

The next 50 members will be receiving lifetime membership without dues.  This means that
even as GenCo-Op grows, your dues won't!  

All you have to do is keep your account current by donating 20-30 kb. of data every 30 days.  
If you'd like, you may contribute enough for several months in advance.

This is being offered with the expectation that bringing in members to GenCo-Op will
expand the data available, and help us to expand that much faster.
GenCo-Op is Launched!

Having been in the works for quite some time, GenCo-Op is now opening it's doors for the
first time, accepting members and receiving contributions from members!

We hope that you are as excited as we are about this opportunity to reap the benefits and
contribute to this community of Genealogists.  We are thrilled to have you!
Changes in Formats Policy:

Originally GenCo-Op was unable to accept images (scanned documents, etc) as
contributions, due to the expense of space. However, our service provider has recently
changed to unlimited disk space, and so images of documents are now accepted as
contributions. Check our FAQ page for more details.
Now Featuring Images!

GenCo-Op has introduced images to it's files! While we're still working within the limitations
of our budget, our service provider has extended our storage to unlimited! That means that
you can view and contribute images in addition to text documents and indexes.

As we anticipated, the growth of GenCo-Op has been encouraging since we "opened shop"
the end of May.  Since then, we have had several thousand visitors, and of those, many have
expressed interest in being a part of GenCo-Op.  With this encouraging sign of interest, we
are looking forward to the next months of growth... and beyond.
Free Data Exchanged at GenCo-Op!

GenCo-Op is providing data to family historians every day at no charge! Not only that, but we
are encouraging the continuous contributions of researchers everywhere.  When you
become a GenCo-Op member, you know that you are part of a growing resource of data,
and you know that you have helped to make a difference for researchers everywhere!
Partnership is Better than Membership:

As we have done with the entire design of GenCo-Op, your staff has sat down to make
GenCo-Op the best possible community for you to be a part of.

The result of our evaluations, produced the following significant change. We have chosen to
discontinue the concept of membership, and replace it with partnership. Why is this such an
important step for GenCo-Op?  Because coming together, on equal terms, is what elevates
GenCo-Op above the mediocre.

Each and every GenCo-Op partner is an essential part of the GenCo-Op community, and we
strongly desire to honor each and every one of our partners by recognizing them in this way.  

As you become a part of the GenCo-Op community, you will be a part of something unique
